‘Terracotta’ is a sterile hybrid developed by crossing our native Common Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) with the European Achillea filipendulina. This variety is selected for its flowers which emerge peach colored and age through an array of earthy oranges between July and September. Its feathery foliage is strongly tinged with silver and will grow into a dense mat as the plant matures. Yarrow flowers are excellent for cut arrangements or dried, and deadheading can prolong blooming into fall. ‘Terracotta’ enjoys the same conditions as Common Yarrow, though it will be slower to spread by rhizomes and will not set viable seed.
