‘Evergold’ Sedge is a non-native, semi-evergreen, clump-forming perennial that grows well in part shade conditions. It can tolerate full sun, but has better color if afternoon shade is provided during the heat of summer. The mounds of bright yellow, variegated leaves brighten shady paths and rock gardens. It needs little maintenance aside from the one-time cut back in early spring before the new growth emerges. In favorable conditions, this sedge will slowly spread by rhizomes to make an attractive groundcover. It is well-behaved and does not have invasive tendencies.
