Description
Our native woodland geranium has pinkish lavender flowers which have centers that fade too an almost white with yellow centers. They bloom for weeks in mid-spring to early summer. Its leaves are deeply with multiple lobes and are very attractive. During extreme heat and dry conditions, the foliage may yellow and cutting them back will rejuvinate them. Geraniums are host to 23 species of butterflies and moths. It grows well in just about any soil except wet. It gently colonizes an area through its rhizomes. Its ability to tolerates deer, rabbits, drought, and dry soil make it a lovely addition to any garden edge. Medicinal uses.
