‘Green Point’ is a cultivated variety of our native Eastern Red Cedar which has a tightly columnar form, similar in style to an Italian Cypress. It has a medium growth rate that maxes out at 25-30′ tall but stays only 4′ wide, allowing for its use in small gardens, foundation plantings, driveways, and areas where a narrow, upright, evergreen specimen is desired. It retains its dark green color through winter.
Juniperus spp. are the alternate host for Cedar-Apple Rust and it is best not to plant them near Apple, Crabapple or Hawthorn trees.
