Viburnum, Cranberrybush #3 (Viburnum trilobum)
White flowers in late spring are followed by clusters of bright red drooping fruit in summer. These berries are a favorite of Cedar Waxwings as well as other songbirds. Green leaves with red veins change to a red purple in fall. Two or more plants are recommended for best fruit yields. Host to 97 species of Lepidoptera. A good shrub for rain gardens. Like most viburnums it can be pruned after flowering to maintain desired size.
