| In just under two weeks, you’ll be able to visit our new location for yourselves and explore our grounds, taking in the new sights and sounds.  Until then though, let us paint a picture of what you can expect. When you turn onto our driveway at 2870 Curve Rd, you’ll have started down a long, straight drive with our nursery on the left, and mature vegetation on the right.  That vegetation marks the property of our wonderful neighbors, the Sackett Flower Farm! Continuing, you’ll see a large loop for our curbside pickups.  After the loop is our fantastic new barn, complete with a dedicated showroom and register space where you will find merchandise like gardening tools, books, and more.  Past the barn is our main parking, also on the left.  Our showroom has doors facing each side as well as a large overhead door to the sales area, so you can access the register from almost every direction.  Attached to the barn, and facing the back parking lot, is our covered porch with ceiling fans and picnic tables, as well as an example garden that will fill in over time. Once you are ready to start shopping for plants, you’ll pass through our deer fence into the nursery itself.  Each side of the entrance features a rain garden, helping us control the water levels on this side of the property and providing inspiration for our customers.  Past the rain gardens, you’ll find our collection of available plants.  As always, plants will be found according to their light and water preferences, so that plants with similar needs are placed together.  Large shade arbors will provide cover for our shade-loving plants, and sun-loving plants will be out in the open.  The nursery has wide gravel paths throughout the space, as well as large, mulched aisles in between sections. |

| Beyond our sales area, you’ll find our habitat restorations areas, which admittedly won’t look well developed this year.  On the far left is our primary wetland, and we also have created swales throughout the property to help direct water flow, creating several more opportunities to install moisture-loving plants.  Our woodland habitat lies to the right, behind, and adjacent to our shade screens.  We have also seeded out a prairie habitat, which will take several years to come into its own. Going back to the main driveway, it continues past our back lot into our production area.  Wholesale pickup will be along this stretch of the drive.  The driveway will open into a large gravel lot where semis and other large vehicles can easily turn around.  To the left of this lot are our potting stations, our hoop house used for propagation, and plenty of space for our freshly potted plants to root in before being moved to the sales area. Behind all of that is our pond, which is already drawing in all sorts of wildlife and helps to hold the water from storms and snowmelt. Hopefully, this gives you a little insight on what to expect on your first visit! |
