| Work marches on at our new home on Curve Road. One of the biggest problems that we needed to solve at this new location is just how sunny it is. With no trees established or large enough to provide shade yet, something needed to be done to protect our large selection of shade-loving plants. For now, the answer is to use screens to create the shade we need. The completed structure shown here is in our “production” area where the plants develop their roots before becoming available to purchase. We will also be assembling more of these structures in our woodland “sales” area, where you will be able to shop for happy, healthy plants beneath our shade screens. Eventually, the trees that we’ve planted will grow large enough to take on this role. In the meantime, these screens will help provide the shade we need! |

| Plant Production Has Started on Curve Road |

| We reached a major milestone last week as we were able to transition our plant production team to their new home. With more production stations (with a permanent shade structure), much larger storage spaces, and a lot more room for growing plants, it’s an improvement in every way. Among the improvements is a hoop house, a first for us, which gives us the space and conditions to raise more of our own seedlings. This also meant that our beloved tractor “Joan Deere” has now migrated to Curve Road to do the heavy lifting required to load each station with soil and deliver the plants around the nursery. The next things to move to our new home are the plants that aren’t quite ready for purchase yet. Once these plants are well-rooted in their containers, they’ll be able to join our available inventory in our “sales” area. It’s great to see plants on the ground, and it really shows how much more space we have! |
